SeniorNet in Johnsonville: North Wellington SeniorNet is now ready to start and we are holding an Open Day on Wednesday 22 May from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Masonic Hall, 25 Phillip Street, Johnsonville. Toolbox Parenting Course: Parenting Middle Years (6-12 years). The course covers Parent Types, Building Character and Self Esteem, Emotional Intelligence, Discipline, Trust and Increasing Responsibility, Creating Memories and Capitalising on the Tween Years. Early Impressions Childcare Crèche & Playgroups: Our crèche has trained teachers and high adult to child ratios on all sessions providing a warm, caring and stimulating environment for your child. Defribulator Course: Wellington Free Ambulance will run a course on Tuesday 21 May from 1pm to 2.30pm. Come along and learn how to use a defribulator in an emergency. The course is free but you do need to register with the Community Centre.

Johnsonville Community Centre Toy Library: Kids bored with their old toys? Come and borrow ours. Get access to hundreds of toys and puzzles for 0-7 year olds for a small fee. Annual and term memberships available. Xiang Cong: A form of Qigong which is easy to learn and can be practiced standing or sitting. Free classes every Monday from 11.30 am to 12.30pm ME/CFS Support Group: Myalgic Encephalopathy/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a serious and complex illness characterised by incapacitating fatigue (experienced as profound exhaustion and extremely poor stamina), neurological problems and a variety of other symptons. The Wellington ME/CFS Support Group will be meeting at the Community Centre in alternate months starting Tuesday 7 February at 12.30pm. They provide a friendly environment where people with ME can find support and meet others with the same condition. They can also have a coordinator available for home visits and other assistance. Knitting Groups: We have two volunteer groups who knit for the Wellington Hospital Neo Natal Unit and other general patients. One group meets monthly on the last Wednesday each month 1.45pm to 4.30pm. and the other group meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month from 1.45pm 4.30pm.
Wellington Video Camera Club: Come along and learn about making videos, editing and get assistance from other members. Learn how to produce better videos for your family to enjoy and make your hobby more exciting. Members receive a monthly newsletter and training DVDs are available.
