Justice of the Peace Service:  We have a Justice of the Peace available Mondays to Saturdays either morning or afternoon.  Please phone to check our timetable or refer to the attached JP roster.
 
Johnsonville Community Centre AGM:  The Community Centre AGM will be held on Tuesday 29 April at 7.30pm.  To vote new members must join and pay $1 by 22 April.  All are welcome to attend.
 

Table Tennis Starting :  Every Wednesday we have a table tennis session from 10am to 12pm in our main hall.  Bats and balls provided and there is no charge.  Contact us if you are interested in being involved or just drop into the hall on Wednesday morning.

Wellington City Council:  WCC are holding a roading consultation meeting to discuss  the new roading plans for the Johnsonville Mall area. To be held at the Johnsonville Community Centre Tuesday 8 April from 3pm to 8pm.

 

SeniorNet in Johnsonville:  North Wellington SeniorNet has started their 2014 programme.  Become a member and learn together, share knowledge, have fun and meet new people. Art Classes:  Drawing for beginners and the more experienced.  Come along and join in with a great group of budding artists. Our next 8 week course started on Wednesday 7 May from 12.45pm to 2.45pm.  The cost of the course is $80 with materials at an extra minimal cost.

Manga/Comic & Cartoon Drawing & Sketching:  Learn techniques of drawing cartoons exploring both the Eastern and Western style of cartooning/sketching.  Artist/Teacher Jim Yong. Classes are for Foundation (4-9 years), Intermediate (9-12 years) and Advanced (13 years and over).  Classes held Monday to Friday afternoons - $160 per 8 week term. Balance Wellington:  Balance Wellington is a peer run support group for people experiencing bipolar disorder, depression or other mood disorders.  Balance Wellington meets on the first Thursday each month from 7pm to 9pm in Room 1 at the Community Centre.  Refreshments are available and a gold coin donation is appreciated to help with the hire of the room. Parenting Children through Separation:  A FREE course will be run by ‘Skylight’ on Wednesday 5 and 12 March from 6pm to 9pm.  This course is to assist parents who are contemplating or have undertaken a separation and is designed to help their children cope well.  Take home resources are provided free by the Ministry of Justice. 500 Cards:  We have a very keen group of people who play 500 on a Friday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm.  If you are interested in joining please contact us.

  

Early Impressions Childcare Crèche & Playgroups: Our crèche has trained teachers and high adult to child ratios on all sessions providing a warm, caring and stimulating environment for your child.  Monday to Friday 8.30am to 1.30pm.  Morning tea provided.  Now providing 20 free hours for the over three age group. Travel Club: A Travel Club has been set up in the Northern Suburbs.  Next meeting will be held on Wednesday 19 March at 7.30pm.  All welcome, members free and non members $4.00 including tea and biscuits.  Club activities include talks on travel, movie outings and casual Sunday afternoon walks. Kiwi Community Assistance:  Kiwis working together to reduce poverty in our communities.   Johnsonville Community Centre is now a drop off point for donations of items (food, clothing etc).  If you have donations for Kiwi Community Assistance please drop off here on Thursdays before 3pm.

 

Mums and Babes Listening Group:  PND offers a casual drop-in coffee group for Mums who want time and space to relax and to talk about the challenges of life with baby.  Just come along or for more information phone 472 3135 or email pnd.wellington@gmail.com. 

 

Xiang Cong:  A form of Qigong which is easy to learn and can be practiced standing or sitting.  Free classes every Monday from 11.30 am to 12.30pm 

 
ME/CFS Support Group:  Myalgic Encephalopathy/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a serious and complex illness characterised by incapacitating fatigue (experienced as profound exhaustion and extremely poor stamina), neurological problems and a variety of other symptons.  The Wellington ME/CFS Support Group will be meeting at the Community Centre in alternate months starting Tuesday 7 February at 12.30pm.  They provide a friendly environment where people with ME can find support and meet others with the same condition.  They can also have a coordinator available for home visits and other assistance.  They can be contacted on 04 9775654 or brainstorm.wgtn@gmail.com
 

Knitting Group:  Kniting for the Wellington Hospital Neo Natal Unit and other general patients.  The group meets monthly on the last Wednesday each month from1.45pm to 4.30pm.
